Biography
IIRIS is the project of Iiris Vesik — Estonian singer-songwriter, composer, and stage actress born in Tallinn. She studied at Goldsmiths, University of London, and rose to prominence after performing at Tallinn Music Week in 2010. MTV Iggy named her artist of the week in early 2011, calling her music "unlike anything else." Her sound moves fluidly between atmospheric synthpop, alternative electronics, and deeply personal songwriting across five studio albums spanning over a decade.
Iiris Vesik first began releasing music under the IIRIS name in 2003, but it was the Tallinn Music Week showcase in 2010 that brought her international attention. Her 2012 debut album The Magic Gift Box introduced a distinctive blend of quirky electronics and intimate vocals. Subsequent releases refined her sound — Iridescent Love (2015) leaned into lush synth arrangements, Hope (2016) offered a more contemplative palette, and Stranger (2017) became her most-heard record to date. In 2025 she released Välimatka, her most recent work. She is also a member of Night Tapes and works as a stage actress alongside her music career.
